We aim to provide accommodation and hospitality of a high standard for those who appreciate peace and quiet in a country building of character. A frequent comment from guests is that they instantly feel at home here, and many come back again and again.
Regency roomsMany of the internal features of the building date from the Regency period – the beautiful foliated balusters of the staircase, and the reeded doorcases. The rooms all have high ceilings with the original cornicing, and are furnished with a unique blend of traditional furniture and more contemporary pieces from around the world. The solid wood floors are a mix of Welsh oak and sustainable Indonesian hardwood.
One of the biggest draws is the enormous reef aquarium in the dining room. The aquarium is more than 2 metres across, holds 800 gallons of water, and is home to surgeon fish, yellow tangs, clownfish, marine invertebrates and many other species.
Luxury and comfort
The guests’ drawing room has comfortable deep armchairs and sofas, and the unforgettable view across the estuary from the floor-to-ceiling windows out onto the terrace. We stock a comprehensive range of guidebooks and maps for visitors to plan the next day’s activities. In the winter months, enjoy the cosiness of the open log fire.
